For someone that’s super picky on what shampoos and conditioners she uses and puts a lot of love and care into her haircare regime, I’ve never been fussy on what hairbrush I use. I would always go for an affordable bamboo paddle brush from Priceline and call it a day. Even though I knew different brushes are beneficial for different uses, I continued to use my $12 bamboo brush for EVERYTHING, brushing, styling, detangling, you name it. Ludicrous, I know.
Next thing I knew, I was surrounded by the best hairbrush brands daily and thought I can’t keep living like this. I’m spending so much time getting my haircare right, why am I skimping out on the important final step?
After doing some research I decided to invest in an Olivia Garden Hairbrush (or three). Named as one of the top hairbrush brands in the trade, Olivia Garden brushes are known to give beautiful results with its unique technology. Founded in 1967 by Jean & Micheline Rennette, with the ideologies of providing hairdressers high quality and innovative salon tools. At the beginning they started manufacturing high-quality synthetic wigs and curlers, then began producing high quality, innovative professional brushes. And to top it off, Olivia Garden Brushes are incredibly affordable and offers a wide range of brushes including:
- Wet Detanglers
- Dry Detanglers
- Eco Brushes
- Boar Stylers
- Heat Pro Ceramic + Ion Brushes
- Nano Thermic Ceramic & Ion Brushes
1. Olivia Garden Divine Wet Detangler
The first brush I had to try was the Olivia Garden best-seller – Divine Wet Detangler. Prior to getting my hair chemically straightened, my hair type was thick and wavy. So, I needed a good wet brush because this was the only time I could brush my hair without damaging it.
Just like the name says, it is Divine! Hands down the Olivia Garden Divine Wet Detangler is the best hairbrush I have used so far. The flexible Memory-Flex bristles gently detangles wet hair without tugging and pulling out hair strands, the ergonomic design makes the brush easy to hold and the ball-point tips also gently massages the scalp while brushing.
Now that I have chemically straightened hair, my hair doesn’t tangle and knot as much as before, but every time I wash my hair, I still go for my Olivia Garden Wet Detangler to make sure my hair is smooth and detangled.
2. Olivia Garden Divine Boar Styler
My second must-have brush was a boar bristle hairbrush. You always hear people raving about boar bristle brushes because they lead to less breakage while styling and help de-frizz and smooth hair. I was itching to get my hands on an Olivia Garden Divine Boar Styler to see if boar stylers live up to the hype.
I style my hair quite often outside of work as one of my hobbies is dancing and aerials. I am always pulling my hair back into tight ponytails & buns for training and more elaborate styles for when I perform. I must say, the Olivia Garden Divine Boar Styler does the job! The 100% boar bristles are so soft and gentle, that your hair glides straight through, leading to a smooth finish. I never have to over brush my hair to get it flat and perfect for my buns, meaning less breakage and fallout during styling. For an added bonus, the boar bristle brushes also massage the scalp to promote blood flow, which is important for healthy scalp and hair.
3. Olivia Garden NanoThermic Ceramic & Ion Round Brush
If blow-drying is your thing, you have to try this! I definitely have phases with my hair and how I style it. At the moment I am into getting the perfect blow-dry. Sometimes a flat iron won’t give you the results you’re after, and in my case, it won’t give me the perfectly curled in ends I want to achieve.
The Olivia Garden NanoThermic Ceramic & Ion Round Brush has become my trusted sidekick for quick and easy blow-drying. The radial brush is designed from the latest ceramic technology, meaning the barrel heats up faster and retains heat longer, leading to faster and better styling, with my thick hair this is exactly what I needed so I don’t have to spend hours blow-drying. What’s even better, the tourmaline ion technology hydrates the cuticle for more shine and eliminates frizz, so you don’t need to stress about all those pesky flyaways. I can definitely say this is a hair styling phase I’m not getting out of anytime soon!
Do You Need an Olivia Garden Hair Brush?
You would be a fool not to get one. There’s a reason why Olivia Garden Brushes are a professional favourite, they offer a wide range of hairbrushes for all hair types and needs, and I am confident there is one for you. Since using Olivia Garden hair brushes, I’ve noticed healthier, shinier hair with less breakage. Each one has a unique use and compliments my haircare routine perfectly.
