I was recently introduced to
Beautopia Hair & Beauty (which is an Australian company selling a large range of premium hair and beauty products, both online, and in their stores) I was quite excited when they reached out to me and offered to try some of the products available online.
I decided that I would love to try some products from Pixi Beauty - which is one of those beauty brands everyone’s raving about, and for some reason, I’ve only ever tried a few of their products, so I naturally jumped at the opportunity and was beyond excited to put some more products to the test.
Pixi Beauty is a UK brand, that was launched over 15 years ago by makeup artist & product developer Petra Strand in Soho, London. Since then, the brand has achieved a worldwide following, thanks to the innovative formulations that are infused with botanicals and beneficial ingredients. Making them flaw-fixing, youth-enhancing products for women on-the-go with no spare time.
I tried the following;
Let’s start with the
Pixi Glow Tonic, which is the product that I’ve been the most excited about to try and I have had on my wish list to try for so long. It contains 5% Glycolic Acid which not only helps to diminish impurities, but also helps to renew the skin by giving it a gentle exfoliation, whilst lifting away the dead skin cells, leaving a brightened glow and faded pigmentation.
I admit that in recent times I have been skipped out on using a tonic, however I do like the feeling and the results you get - but since getting the Pixi Glow Tonic , I’ve gotten addicted to using it both in the morning and evening, after cleansing and before serum and moisturiser. Often glycolic toners irritate or dry out the skin, but not this one as it is free from alcohol, and it feels rather gentle on the skin.
It also contains ginseng to help improve circulation along with aloe vera to soothes and hydrate.
It leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth, and with an immediate radiant glow. (no wonder where it got its name). Since using it, I have also felt that it has helped clear up my skin, reducing oiliness in the t-zone area and consequently reducing the amount of breakouts I’ve been getting. When using the tonic in the morning, I feel it also leaves my skin with a better base for makeup. I will definitely be repurchasing this Glow Tonic again and again.
Then there’s the
Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser, which is a purifying mud cleanser designed to cleanse the pores and renew the skin. It contains 5% glycolic acid, along with aloe vera to give the skin a deep clean in all of your pours aswell as helping to detoxify.
I’ve been using this cleanser as my second cleanse in the evening, and I love the combination of the clay with the glycolic acid, as it helps absorb the excess grease that clogs up the pores. While the glycolic acid helps gently exfoliate the skin and remove the dead skin cells (without stripping the skin). It is quite gentle and soothing, thanks to contain the aloe Vera.
To use, you simply massage a small amount into damp skin for about 30 seconds before rinsing it off - but I’ve also found it is great to leave on the skin for the two minutes while I brush my teeth before rinsing it off, as I find it gives my skin a more intensive clean. And after each use, and with frequent use, I find that my skin is left clearer and more mattified, feeling so soft and smooth, with a nice glow. I’ll definitely be purchasing this one again too!
Finally, there’s the
Pixi Glow Peel Pads, which are exfoliating pads infused with 20% glycolic acid. This can be used for an intense exfoliation to reveal a brighter, more radiant, energised skin. The pads contain rose extracts to help soothe and hydrate. While Aloe Vera and Gingko Biloba helps hydrate and nourish the skin, and Licorice Root brightens and evens the skin tone.
To use, you simply take one pad and wipe it over a clean, makeup-free dry face, neck and décolleté (and top of your hands), and leave it on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water to neutralise the peel. You can use it once a day, or a few times a week as needed. The first time I felt a slight tingling sensation, especially when wiping over current blemishes, but nothing that was too irritating, and it disappears rather quickly. I immediately loved the results, as they really do leave the skin feeling so incredible soft and smooth, and with a nice glow. My skin also appears more clarified and less greasy.
As for my breakouts, I have found that the ones I had, cleared up a lot faster, but daily use has also helped de-congest my skin, and dramatically clear it up, even in areas where I’ve been fighting breakouts for months (such as on my chin and cheek bones). Yes, I still get breakouts, but they are no longer as big or aggressive, and as a bonus, my skin is more even and radiant, to the point where I’m feeling much more confident in my skin, without feeling the need to wear makeup.
I’ve tried other similar peel pads, but most are more expensive, and not as efficient. the formula is either not as strong, or they make my skin dry and irritated. So if you ask me, they’re a great buy, I’ll definitely be repurchasing these again as they’re a lifesaver for my blemish prone skin!
